Hands-on Learning

Lynne’s Fiber Garden is a fiber arts education studio based in Birmingham AL offering hands-on classes, workshops, and programs that introduce students and communities to traditional making skills.

Through knitting, crochet, tatting, and sewing, participants build focus, creativity, and confidence while creating meaningful, finished projects.

Lynne Hutton is a fiber artist and educator specializing in traditional fiber arts techniques. Through Lynne’s Fiber Garden, she teaches workshops for all ages, blending artistry, history, and the joy of creating by hand.

Lynne learned these skills from her mother, her aunts, and her grandmothers, who taught her not only the techniques, but also the satisfaction of making something by hand—something that can be treasured for years to come. Today, she carries those traditions forward by sharing them with others.

She believes fiber arts connect us to our heritage and to one another—stitch by stitch, heart to hand.

Teaching traditional, timeless skills through creating together.
